Meraki Fire was born from a deep love of clay, beautiful design, and the natural environment.

Inspired by land and sea, artist Nicole Redenbach, crafts ceramic and porcelain jewellery from a small Sydney studio on Gayamagal land. Here inspiration is taken from her surroundings – hidden harbour beaches and rock pools, sandy bush tracks, the salty air, and the bushland beyond.

Noticing beauty in the smallest details – a broken piece of shell, the layered tones of a rock – Nicole textures clay with natural elements, or her own carved clay stamps, before firing and layering with a range of glazes. Sometimes rustic, sometimes soft and painterly, but always with a connection to nature.

With a passion for handmade, Nicole combines her study of jewellery design and metalsmithing to craft each component by hand. Clay and metal are formed in small batches using traditional methods and sustainable practices. The design of even a recycled silver hoop is carefully considered – it’s comfort, how it displays the ceramic jewel, and its ability to compliment the wearer.

When a customer wears a Meraki Fire jewel, Nicole hopes they feel joy – a connection to the natural environment, its beauty and shape, and the happiness this brings.
