Warami! Yaama! My name is Aleta Wassell and I am an Indigenous performer, artist and creator based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
I have a background in musical performances, art and anything that allows me to express my ideas creatively! I enjoy performing traditional and contemporary songs in language, choreographing contemporary Indigenous dances and being able to share knowledge through Acknowledgments of Country at a range of local events. I am open to commissioning artworks works and have experience in designing custom Indigenous sports jersey designs, or creating a one-off artwork to showcase in a business lobby or the front cover of a new written work.
I am currently studying a Bachelor of Primary Education and have a major interest and passion for supporting Indigenous students within a school and sharing my Aboriginal knowledge and culture through immersive school incursions for all to explore and learn together.
My goal with all the work I do is to share the beauty of Indigenous culture for generations to come!
