I am a contemporary landscape and abstract painter and sculptor. I started painting in 1970 while practising as a Chartered Architect. Following my retirement in 1997, I started my full-time art practice.
I have a very broad range of artistic interests: painting, ceramics and sculpture, and thus cannot be pigeonholed into a single art form or ‘style’.
My main inspiration is Nature and the unique landscapes of Australia: wilderness areas, wetlands, the unspoilt countryside, deserts, the ocean and seashores. I am interested in using environmentally friendly approaches and recently started using recycled materials to create bas-relief and three-dimensional sculptures.
I had more than 30 solo shows since 1999 — in Sydney, Melbourne and regional New South Wales galleries. I also participated in countless group shows in municipal and commercial galleries and other venues. I have been a member of the National Association for Visual Arts (NAVA) and have had exhibiting memberships in Ku-ring-gai, Mosman, Hornsby and North Shore Art Societies and The Sculptors’ Society.
